Location:

San Francisco, CA

Project Scope:

New Construction, Modular Building, Modernization

As the first project in San Francisco Unified School District’s 2011 Proposition A Bond Program ($531 million), the $12.0 million project at Monroe Elementary School represents the first significant improvements to the campus since its construction in 1975. The existing 2-story building has been fully modernized and re-programmed, including improvements to the multi-purpose room, food service, library, and administrative areas as well as seismic, fire-life safety, and technology upgrades. A new 2-story, 12 classroom Modular wing replaces existing portables, freeing up more then 3,000 square feet of playground space on the tight urban site. The campus look has been refreshed to match the local character of the quiet San Francisco neighborhood.
